Construction begins on a pedestrian/cycle route connecting Filtri Road with the Kadriorg district and Ülemiste terminal
The construction of the first stage of the pedestrian/cycle path connecting Filtri Road with the Kadriorg district and Ülemiste terminal has begun in the centre of Tallinn. The engineering work on this project was performed by Reaalprojekt OÜ.
During the implementation of the project, a new route for pedestrians and cyclists will be built, which includes connecting Tehnika Street and Filtri Road to the Kadriorg district and Ülemiste terminal via the Odra Street, Türnpu Street, Vilmsi Street and Vesivärava Street pedestrian/cycle path. In the second stage of the project, a pedestrian/cycle bridge with an observation platform will be built to connect Gonsiori Street to Majaka Street.
The design of the pedestrian/cycle path connecting Filtri road with the Kadriorg district and Ülemiste terminal was prepared by Reaalprojekt OÜ. The engineering work included a total of 1.78 km of pedestrian and cycle roads, 0.13 km of bicycle paths, 0.014 km of sewerage pipes and monolithic reinforced concrete structures for two bridges (one of them a four-span slab superstructure and the other a prestressed slab superstructure).
The construction works of the first stage will be performed by Tallinna Teed AS and the deadline for the works is November 2020. The construction of the pedestrian/cycle path was commissioned by the city of Tallinn’s environment and public utilities department.
